A Bubbly Affair: Searcys Launches First Bubbly Show (23-24 June)

It’s time to pop the corks as British restaurateur and events caterer Searcys launches its first-ever ‘Bubbly Show’, a two-day celebration of all things fizz this June. Taking place in the stunning surrounds of the historic {10-11} Carlton House Terrace, located just off Pall Mall, the show will make its debut from Friday 23rd to Saturday 24th June, featuring a range of exhibitors from Champagne houses and English sparkling wine producers, complete with tastings, talks, masterclasses and even a lesson in sabrage. Tickets start from just £49 per person, including eight samples of champagne and English sparkling wines and access to the talks.

Curated in partnership with Honest Grapes wine club, the two-day show will stretch across the stunning Grade I listed venue, featuring bottles from champagne heavyweights including Taittinger, Pommery and Moët & Chandon, along with English sparkling wine producers including Greyfriars and Gusbourne.

Fizz aficionados will sip their way through an enfilade of rooms, sampling bubbles from small growers and Grandes Marques with a selection of nibbles to pair and learning about the art of Champagne with guided talks throughout the show. Led by industry experts, themes will include a blind tasting The Battle of Bubbles: England vs France with The Spectator’s wine writer Jonathan Ray, while Searcys Head of Champagne, Martin Dibben, will teach a lesson in the art of sabrage – a ceremonial technique of opening a champagne bottle with a sabre – which is only seen in approved hotels and restaurants.

For foodies, there will be an interactive champagne masterclass and dinner experience (£120pp), wherein guests will sample their way through three vintages in a guided tasting, perfectly matched to a three-course menu of seasonal, British dishes. For a quintessentially British pastime, on Saturday, guests can opt for the Afternoon Tea experience (£79pp), served with Searcys Selected Cuvée and featuring a selection of mouth-watering savouries and elegant patisserie, along with Searcys’ patisserie signatures.

Experts in all things bubbles since 1847, the Searcys Bubbly Show will open its doors on Friday 23rd June from 4pm-9.30pm and on Saturday 24th June from 10am-6pm. Tickets start from £49 per person, with the option to upgrade your experience with a champagne masterclass, afternoon tea or sabrage tutorial.
