Alvarez & Marsal has made its Private Equity Performance Improvement practice even stronger by hiring Tom Parkinson as Managing Director in London. This shows that the company is still focused on complicated carve-out deals and creating operational value across Europe.
Parkinson joins at a time when A&M’s PEPI team is growing quickly. He is the fifth senior hire the firm has made in the practice in the last six months. The company’s continued growth shows that A&M is dedicated to helping private equity clients through deal environments that are becoming more and more complicated, from planning separations to integrating after a merger.
He will join the Carve-out and Merger Integration team within the wider PEPI practice, bringing significant experience in large, transformational carve-outs and complex separation and integration programmes. His expertise spans the full investment cycle, with a focus on pre-deal due diligence, deal execution, and post-deal value creation.
Amit Laud, Managing Director and Co-Head of the European Private Equity Performance Improvement team at Alvarez & Marsal, said: “As we continue to strengthen our capabilities across Europe in the areas our private equity clients value most, Tom’s hands-on experience leading transformational carve-out and merger integration programmes across sectors will further enhance our ability to support clients from diligence through to execution. His appointment reflects our continued focus on deepening our operational expertise and will further enhance our ability to deliver measurable results for clients”
Dominic Orchard, Managing Director, said: “Carve-outs remain one of the most challenging transaction types for investors, demanding a rare combination of strategic insight and operational precision. Tom’s depth of experience across due diligence, carve-out execution and post-merger transformation will further enhance our ability to support clients from the start through to long-term value delivery. His arrival strengthens our rapidly growing European carve-out and merger integration team and reinforces A&M’s reputation as the partner of choice for complex separation work.”
On his appointment, Tom said: “A&M has an outstanding reputation for operational excellence and for working side by side with clients to deliver lasting results. Having spent much of my career focused on carve-outs and performance improvement, I am looking forward to helping further strengthen A&M’s capabilities in this area and contributing to the continued growth of the practice.”
