Revealed: Top 10 UK Cities With the Most Outdoor Pubs and Restaurants

With the UK’s continuous lockdown restrictions throughout 2020 and 2021 forcing our favourite pubs and restaurant venues to close temporarily, they have been a miss across the nation. However, with the roadmap out of lockdown underway, 12th April saw outdoor pubs and restaurant venues returning once again. Of course, there are still many COVID-19 lockdown rules that must be followed to help prevent the spread of the virus.

One way many venues are choosing to help control the spread of the virus is by allowing customers to book a table in advance for a certain amount of time. As many of us wait eagerly to get back to our favourite social venues, online queues of people trying to book their slot are building up.

With this said, The Inn Collection Group, providers of stunning Ambleside accommodation, collected search data on TripAdvisor and discovered some cities are at an advantage when it comes to having greater availability for outdoor pubs and restaurant venues than others. After finding out how many bars, pubs, and restaurants there were in each UK city, the number of each establishment that has ‘outdoor seating’ was filtered. Using this, it was calculated how many outdoor seating venues there were per 100k of the population.

Are you finding it difficult to book an outdoor seating space in your city? With just 38.2 per cent of licensed premises in the UK having outdoor seating available, we take a look at the top ten cities in the UK that have the most outdoor venue space.
